Burke e Van Heusen sono stati probabilmente una delle coppie di compositori piu’ celebri di Hollywood, hanno composto infatti , moltissimi brani per qualcosa come piu’ di 30 film, nella loro carriera. Tanto per ricordarne qualcuno tra quelli piu’ famosi, "Like someone in love", "It could happen to you", "Polka dots and moonbeams",  "Darn that dream".

Il mio gusto personale e’ molto vicino alle progressioni di Van Heusen, e But Beautiful e’ uno dei miei brani preferiti, e’ bella l’accoppiata armonia e testi, Love is Funny e l’armonia e’ inequivocabilmente maggiore . sul Sad l’armonia diventa diminuita per introdurre la tonalita’ minore e per tutto il brano l’alternanza di minore e maggiore e’ costante, con la chiusura a lieto fine della commedia Holliwodiana, che e’ inequivocabilmente maggiore con il testo che recita "And that would be but beautiful… i know", e nel finale suonando questo brano, mi e’ venuto in mente un’altro brano di un’altra famigerata coppia di autori, Rodgers/Hart anche in questo caso una bella melodia ed una meravigliosa linea armonica che accompagna il pezzo. MI sembrano perfetti per essere eseguiti insieme, But Beatiful…. My Romance
