Richie Beirach – Jazz Adagio

Chiudo l’anno con una recensione, musica ne ho ascoltata tanta quest’anno, molta bella, spesso mi e’ stato troppo faticoso trovare le parole per descriverla.
Ultimo disco di questo straordinario pianista, un disco dalla grande intensita’ emotiva. Ho un debole per i dischi dell’etichetta Venus Records, sono tutti cosi’ mirabilmente introspettivi, a partire dalla grafica della copertina per addentrarsi nella perfezione del suono e nell’intensita’ emotiva dell’esecuzione. Beirach non e’ nuovo alla musica classica, lo dimostra bene in quest’ultimo lavoro, la rilettura che apre e chiude il disco dell’adagio di Mozart del Concerto per Piano in La minore KV488 lo dimostra.
In questo disco sono presenti anche spunti dal Preludio n.4 di Bach e dal Preludio N.4 di Scriabin, oltre a riletture preziose di standard Jazz come My Funny Valentine e For All We Know. Adoro il pianismo aperto e lirico di Beirach, lirico ed a volte criptico, come criptici sono i luoghi della nostra anima, un disco di grande pathos, ma come poteva essere diversamente quando il viaggio di questo pianista si era aperto con il disco Hubris prodotto negli anni settanta da un’altra etichetta dell’anima come la ECM.
Ascolto la magia di Mozart, rivista con meraviglia, discrezione ed introspezione dall’anima di Richie Beirach, ascolto e respiro, ascolto e mi distacco da questo anno faticoso. Che il 2010 vi sia leggero.
