John Mirabassi - Next! Piano Solo

This pianist and 'unfortunately still little known in Italy, despite some very high relief work. Next! and 'one of these, rereading passionate and meditative songs of struggle and supporters to get to the song against apartheid.
He feels all the love for the popular folklore, the melody that sticks in your head, that only the popular songs possess a hypnotic power to capture attention with their simplicity 'and' natural 'sound. The musical taste of Mirabassi and 'exquisite, always manages to avoid the rhetoric and the easy satisfaction, working on the melody lines only where necessary to avoid rework harmonics too sophisticated, in short, a disk of maturity' in some ways unsurpassed. The possibility 'sound of the piano are used up, low tones, harmonics, medium and high, for sounds' solo piano already 'feature, already' clearly distinguishable from the masters.
I still wonder why a talent of this size, should be found due recognition in France, and as' possible that Italy is a country so 'terribly conservative in music (and not only in reality' ...)

Italy is a conservative country when it comes to music only when he wants, I think in reality only those who want to keep and what they like.
    Quoyle soon, Samuel.

No looks beautiful sull'internazionale believe there was an article of a German journalist who spoke precisely how Italy in this case of classical music is incredibly conservative, for jazz and 'the same story, the Italian musicians to express themselves must go in france ... same story for the universities, if you want to do research at some level you have to go abroad ..

  3. anonymous user writes:

for jazz I can read it from someone or I can hear people's opinions on how to throw in Italy, in reality, and I know too that in France you can still play more or less as you want, but for classical music I sources more neighbors me, my parents are classical musicians live and have lived the moments of classical music in Italia.A Italy this what you mean by conservative?
Regarding the allocation of funds for research are with you in saying that in practice there sono.Per least not all parti.Al CNR in Pisa one of my friends did not know how to go on to study and elaborate the electronic music in Florence there's no more anything except the conservatory for a year has made a great expense for the renovation of very old vinyl recordings.
In reality I also see that you do not want to take money as if we were already there ... as if uneversitari aderossero the program for vocational qualifications (credits accumulated during the year and end year is getting a state exam to achieve a qualification in more than a degree) the university would have a substantial sum of money to manage for the search.
There is no money, but if they refuse to take what we can ...

I mean lacks innovation, who drives out of the box has no place, there 'space for research in the arts and sciences.
The programming of the theaters e'piena opera, there is no 'room for Schoenberg and contemporary music, jazz music and also in' the same, little room for experimentation, no collective of musicians in the manner of Coleman or as collective parigini.A November to the Olympic Theatre in Rome, and 'staged a work of a contemporary composer Maxwell Davies Eight songs for a mad king (inspired by George inghlilterra iii) Well there were only 100 people in the room, with a' solitsti fantastic orchestra and prominent .. missed ... especially the subscribers who would like full seasons of Donizetti and Verdi, as well 'as for jazz in Italy who dares not spaces, play always the same the same old things that Miles sounded much better 50 years ago, few talents that risk and to do so they must go abroad.
Look at Italy and 'country in Europe which spends less on research and' innovation so shortsighted because 'only through education research universities' innovation can' become competitive.

no ... look ... look what you've got to come and say mica indexes Italian or tell me that Italy does not go forward in research or in music there's no trial, these issues are addressed now and in the public domain and repeated for years. I just wanted to add the other side of the coin, so do not heat the mine is only a comment.
Italy offers little to those who want to go ahead and experiment and you know.
... "There were only 100 people in the room, with a 'fantastic orchestra and solitsti foreground .. lacking especially subscribers "...
Italy does not mean old, but old Italian or conservative as you call them.
If Italy were conservative you would see on all sides the same thing done well or badly, in reality is not everywhere
and it is done well by poche.Tu say that jazz still sounds the same miles and that he sounded better, I say do not play jazz and all that jazz is not part of our culture.
I have not now claim to arrive at solutions to a problem in big thing ¬ a comment a few lines, I just want to add that some Italians are conservative and some not, and that the Italian state is another matter.
However soon and figured if I want to be arguing in your house.
    Peace,
    Samuel.

But we did not just happen .... I am not at all ... I was warming up
I believe that Italy tends to be conservative in cultural theme ... that's all, you probably younger than me but this is not 'a problem, at least for me
    Hello :-)

  7. quoyle writes:

Ah, and then old man 'at all synonymous with conservative careful with words ... infinitamnete many young people are more' conservative ...

  8. anonymous user writes:

I thought I had heard you old as conservative ... we did not just happen ...
    :-)
    Samuel.

  9. quoyle writes:

But even remotely conservative, 'a category that applies in the same age' registry ... unfortunately :-)

  10. quoyle writes:

"You say you still playing the same jazz miles and that he sounded better, I say do not play jazz and all that jazz is not part of our culture."

You also know of qusto disagree, some European musicians have "melted" the European tradition with jazz, and what I say 'that makes no sense to continue to play all the things you are sounding like Miles and Dizzy Monk trane in 40 years ....

In Europe and not only do we have a lot of musicians who have adapted their way of playing the melody with the traditional European form of jazz.
See Svensson in Sweden, genial, Mehldau streets looking for new pieces reinterpreting Radiohead, Nick Drake, yet has created a Pieranunzi often sounds' tipicamnete Mediterranean as in the record that I reviewed,
Garbarek has joined the Norwegian medieval folk to Jazz music.
Don Byron, with the lyric, along with Uri Caine continues to experience
In Italy the experiments of this type are rare, not for lack of ideas and talent, but for lack of seats and sponsorships.
Umbria Jazz 'Jazz Festival has become one of the most' ugly and conservative in europe, at Lausanne in Switzerland are likely, at Umbria Jazz to know that you will need to go puppare Ray Gelato ...
