Savina Yannatou & Primavera en Salonica - Sumiglia
It was a time I wanted to hear something of this Greek singer, I just read that he had released this album for ECM, Sumiglia. The record 'a journey in the Mediterranean melodies, sounds of all the countries bordering this sea.
Just begun a journey, something deep, ancestral, primitive, and is' released into the air. A sound from far away, drums essential, as only registered divinely home ECM can do. Savine and then the voice of 'persuasive, an instrument that sings with agility' melodies that come from Italy, Greece, Palestine, Bulgaria, Armenia. The perfect soundtrack for this Sunday, made of clouds, thoughts, dreams, suspensions.
A disk connected to the tradition, played in an exemplary manner, accordion, violins, drums, traditional instruments of countries, a good test of harmonization of different traditions, sounds of earth, sea sounds, something deeply rooted within our soul. Often the most recent productions, and 'generally offer music moves away from the roots, forgetting that some evocative power almost liturgical melodies and rhythms can result in some listeners. It remains deeply affected by the passage of moods, plucks the Salento and traditional Balkan tunes, feel the wind in the Greek temples of spices and flavors. A really good album, the kind that leave you something, the feeling of having crossed the barriers of space and time, a warm and cozy atmosphere for a trip in the night time. Desire to lose, to let through, to let go of these primordial rhythms, dance by following the natural rhythm of the music, the natural frequency in deep harmony with the rhythm of life and body.

Smell of primordial ..
I like ..
Sumiglia convinced me to try this hard. ² err, but here already feel "something Bulgarian", or will be my imagination. Puts a kind of serenity inside, but at the same time brings out many emotions.

@ Light, is something old, from afar, suggestions of the time.
@ Cronomoto happy that you have driven to seek and listen to the record. No you're right there for me 'something of earth, the Balkans, in this passage, I would hardly related to this melody Corsica. It 'hard to explain, brings serenity' and anxiety also are those drums that remind me of the wind, at least in my imagination I see a hill a few bare trees, a stone building and clouds and wind, and this voice that sings.
Hello
Q

Board of Sailors Lost Izzo ... these notes made me imagine the relentless wind that blows on the ports of Algiers and Barcelona, Marseille and Istanbul, Trieste and Alexandria, Athens and Genoa, Tunis and Palermo .. a rhythm that unites them all as if the sea .. the sea, the Mediterranean.
Thanks

Interestingly, ECM is a label of high quality
you know, always the ECM, "Hayren" (Music of Tigran Mansurian and Komitas)? are pieces of Armenian music performed admirably by Kim Kashkashian and Mansurian same
ancestral music, very evocative
'Night, brother

Mediterranean rhythms and voices .. a music in which we can recognize. Every so often happens
and 'hypnotic and melancholy.
Good night, dear Quoyle,
goodnight ...

@ Cronomoto, when you come hard, let me know your impressions, I really want raccomdando
@ Thanks for the suggestion, and 'will be true already' the names of those cities 'to evoke something primal, the wind, the melodies, there' a lowest common denominator, probably the whole history of the Mediterranean :-)
@ Luca, the ECM and 'label, not a label
DO NOT know the disk you suggested and I will 'listen. What I like about ECM and 'the promotion of traditional cultures without falling into the easy new age, the great quality' records, and not least the packaging, photographs of the discs have something just as good artistically.
@ Aldebaran occasionally happens to identify with something or someone and it 'feels good
@ Between hypnotic, but do not feel sad, I feel deeply primal, a moment disturbing echoes of distant voices of the past. A hug Q
