'Round Midnight

For years I go around this track, I know him well, a difficulty 'awesome,' cause there 'Monk,' cause there are too many, many versions bulky, difficult to approach and leave out what you really have inside. The title of this blog, Round About Midnight, my fears about that and the desire to play this song.

One evening at a concert recently Toots Thielemans has played before and told him that it 'always an adventure path between these notes, the execution makes it clear that you can' do and what you can not 'do, 60 years he plays this song every time and has a thermometer in his state of creativity 'music. It 's nice to feel this humility' in a musician who has played with most of the history of jazz, and it 'was good to hear yourself playing the harmonica theme, just the theme, as you can' improvise without being wicked The theme of this song and 'the most' beautiful harmony line as possible on this progression. Perhaps only Coltrane and 'succeeded in impress with one of these chord progressions.

So I never had the courage to listen to and record, the crime two days ago, I tried to play and record, eyes closed, think of the text, and fabio, just try to be myself for better or for worse, leave from everything I've heard and all that this passage is far from Monk, Miles away from, away from all the notes heard on this issue. With all the simplicity 'and the sweetness that I have inside, which will inevitably try to bring out at least when I play, because in everyday life often can not really be what they are. For better or for worse, with the limitations of the technique and the power of passion, with the enormous power of love I feel about this little masterpiece of composition. With the certainty of where I came to understand, because there is more to do, to scrape, to internalize and how far, however, was flown to a clean and clear feeling of what is moving inside.

This song represents something very personal and deep for me, not 'a case that the blog is so named, is in many ways really my ideal vision of music. At night, a slightly melancholic mood yet in this text the infinite sweetness and sense of loss and nostalgia, missing something obsessively and this must be missing something in the music, and a hint of anger, lightweight, concrete does not anger, but anger of impotence ... it begins to tell, and that space which is of the very special night in my life, a citizen of the night, memories, thoughts acquire a completely different flavor, I wrote some time ago that we must pay attention to the night thoughts, come and take you by surprise in regions strange, yet I will serve to metabolize, acquire, store the elements of the experience during the day. And that phrase "Have not got the heart to stand Those memories," not having the courage to stop the memory, the thought even if we realize the devastating power and that 'inherent in thought itself. And still in silence, in the eerie silence of the night that thoughts take a strange texture, the smell that you feel walking at night and 'most' intense and more 'sweet, coming back late yesterday, I walked alone and felt my feet, the crisp air, slightly cold, clear night and the smell that awakens the thoughts and slightly induced forgetting to let go of the nostalgia night thoughts, yet it begins to tell, round midnight, round about midnight.

It begins to tell,
'Round midnight, midnight.
I do pretty well, till after sundown,
Suppertime I'm feelin 'sad;
But it really gets bad,
'Round midnight.

Memories always start 'round midnight
Have not got the heart to stand Those memories,
When my heart is still with you,
And ol 'midnight knows it, too.
When a quarrel We had needs mending,
Does it mean That our love is ending.
Darlin 'I need you, Lately I find
You're out of my heart,
And I'm out of my mind.

Let our hearts take wings'
'Round midnight, midnight
Let the angels sing,
for your returning.
Till our love is safe and sound.
And old midnight comes around.
Feelin 'sad,
gets really bad
Round, Round, Round Midnight
